BLT, usually synonymous with sandwiches, has a new meaning - Bulbs, Lamps and Tubes. With over 20,000 products online this e-commerce site attracts around 750,000 visitors each month, but it wasn’t always that way...

The Challenge

With an existing inefficient entry-level solution BLT Direct represented a huge challenge. We were tasked with several goals including brand development, e-commerce consultancy, search engine placement and the development of bespoke e-commerce facilities.

BLT Direct's requirements extended into all areas of their business including warehousing, supplier management, purchasing, telesales facilities and bespoke e-commerce software.

The Solution

Working closely with BLT Direct we spent some time analysing their existing business, competitors and other successful e-commerce sites. Armed with this information we set about planning their new software and branding.

We were able to advise BLT Direct of changes to their business to improve efficiency and implement a new workflow for order processing.

The Results

Since its launch in 2006 BLT Direct has significantly increased sales from 20 to 200 orders per day. And, the improved efficiency offered by our solution means they're able to cope with demand and business growth.

Azexis continues to develop the site and brand in close collaboration with BLT Direct, who now appear on the first page of both Google and Yahoo for "light bulbs".

BLT Direct continue to evolve and we’re still excited to be part of their development.
